Shenington is one of the most aspirational circuits to get to visit to go racing!
It's surface is in excellent condition and offers levels of grip that are just awesome to race on like no other circuit we visit over the course of a kart season. To have two days here in glorious sunshine and 20+ C temperatures was the pinnacle of our experiences this year.
Despite multiple red flags throughout both days due to unfortunate accidents (thankfully, no one getting really seriously hurt) we were able to enjoy the pace and progress that could be achieved on such a sublime track!
Some of the newer drivers in the class presented positioning & braking level challenges whilst racing them and the poor kart is showing severe battle scars to the bodywork from interactions with a couple of them - but we've all had to start somewhere and it's one of those things in racing!
A new nosecone beckons for the next event!
We came away with some great results and the improvement in finishing position continues; a P6 is amazing in a grid of 22 karts. Thanks to our great mechanic & driver partnership we also achieved the 4th fastest lap time! What an amazing result!
On to Rowrah in Cumbria next for the NatSKA Nationals in July!
